WebCBT has shown to be effective for a wide variety of psychological problems while other therapeutic theories simply have not (Chambless & Ollendick, 2001; Fisher & O'Donohue, 2006). In this important sense, CBT may be said to be the only or at least the foremost paradigm in psychotherapy. Webchildhood disorders (Chambless & Ollendick, 2001; Hunsley & DiGuilio, 2002). More disconcertingly, recent evidence—much of it emerging only over the past decade—suggests that certain psychological treatments can produce harm in a nontrivial number of individuals (Beutler, Bongar, & Shurkin, 1998; Lambert & Miller, 2001; Rhule, 2005).
